Organised guided walks around the village, join us and become more active
Ramblers UK and DMBC Walking for Health announced the return of short walks for groups of up to 30 people.
We have conducted a risk assessment based on the latest guidance on how we can do this safely.
This assessment allows the return of all of our walks in line with the new guidance – but this means there are new walking requirements:
You MUST email the organiser at email@example.com if you wish to walk.
You MUST provide your name, contact number and an emergency contact name on a walk register.
You MUST confirm a symptom check on the day of the walk.
The Coffee Morning will not be open until later in the year.
A number of our members took part in a walk leadership course run by Doncaster Council to help us get more people taking some exercise. The walks are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month and are generally 2-3 mile round trips and open to all abilities, starting and finishing at the Village Hall. They also coincide with our Coffee Mornings making it possible for you to buy refreshments afterwards.
We regularly have 10-15 walkers who come along each week, some go them also take part in guided walks in other parts of Doncaster. We are really pleased they choose to come to our meets and help us get people more active.
In addition to the regular walks we also plan ‘Away’ walks routes just outside of the village. A short car ride to the start point offers a chance to see some of the beautiful countryside that Finningley and its surrounding areas has to offer.
All walks leave the Village Hall at 11am prompt, unless otherwise stated so please try to arrive 10:50 to register.
The first walk will be on Thursday 6 August at 11.00 from Finningley Village Hall.
The next walk will be on Thursday 20 August at 11.00 from Finningley Village Hall
Please wear suitable clothing, footwear and bring any medications that you may require. Walks are subject to change due to weather conditions.
